💚 Summer is here, and so are we

It’s been a season of tending plants and ideas – and of building an apothecary from the forest floor up. Verdant Way is now open, with handcrafted extracts, teas, and seasonal offerings rooted in relationship with the southeast Texas land I call home.

The first circle of listeners are just gathering, whether you are a seasoned herbalist and/or forager, or you are curious about plants and enjoy supporting wildcrafted small efforts like these.

If you’re just joining the path, welcome. This newsletter will arrive about once a month with recent reflections, new offerings, and a little glimpse of what’s growing.

Fresh Albizia julibrissin flowers steeping in vegetable glycerin - one of my first glycerites, and it turned out so fragrant and springy!

🛍️ What’s in the Apothecary

These are small batches, made by hand, from plants I gather and process myself. This month, you’ll find over 15 products, including:

  • Yaupon Tea, dehydrated yaupon leaves - enjoy like yerba mate or mix with your favorite tea for a caffeine boost.
  • Mimosa Flower Extract, basically bottled springtime. Mimosa flowers are traditionally used for anxiety, and recent studies have indicated that it improves the effects of anti-depressants and works well on its own.
